This FREE online event on the 18th of June at 13:00 - 17:00, will teach you the secrets of progressive failure analysis of composites. The basics of composites simulation in Abaqus will be covered, as well as the advanced concepts of modelling material and interface degradation and failure. This workshop is an ideal way to understand what advanced simulation can offer and to understand how easy it is to perform a real world analysis. Starting with a lecture session covering the essential concepts of advanced composite simulation, the course also gives the attendees the opportunity to try advanced solutions such as debonding, failure, delamination and crack propagation.

Simulating composite materials in Abaqus: a case study on bike frames
To say that the Dutch love biking is a bit of an understatement, considering there are ~23 million bikes for ~17 million people. What is more surprising though is that some Dutch own mountain bikes, despite not having any mountains or (significant) hills for that matter.
The bike frame is usually made out of aluminum, titanium, steel or carbon fiber. The choice of material is mainly related to the weight of the frame, but what about the loading? In this blog, I will simulate each frame, including the composite one, in Abaqus/Explicit.
Topics: Abaqus/CAE, composite analysis

Modelling a composite flanged tube including loading with Abaqus/CAE
In this blog, we will be providing information on the modelling of laminated composites with Abaqus. Modelling will be done using the composite layup tool, and material orientations will also be assigned.
Those modelling features will be demonstrated with a relevant example case of a composite flanged tube under loading. The tube will be subjected to thermal and radial pressure loading.
Topics: Abaqus/CAE, composite analysis, ply, flange, tube, laminated, fibre, matrix, carbon, epoxy
Introduction to Composite Analysis with Abaqus FEA - Free Abaqus Workshop - 28th Feb
This FREE event on the 28th of February at our office in Den Bosch, NETHERLANDS, is meant for engineers who have some experience of Composites or FEA and would like to look at what is possible with simulation of composites performed by Abaqus FEA. The workshop is also suitable for engineers where ultimate structural performance is a critical product characteristic in their field. For example in areas of composite engineering such as marine, offshore, renewable energy, automotive, sports equipment and medical sciences.Structural Analysis - Composite behaviour.
