Posted by Dolf Broekaart on Jan 11, 2021 1:51:59 PM

January’s webinar is entitled ‘Characterizing materials and calibrating material models in Abaqus’. It will be held on the 29th of January.

In this month’s webinar we will be looking at characterizing materials and calibrating material models in Abaqus.
Contents:
• The material calibration tool that allows you to import stress vs strain data into Abaqus to create elastic plastic materials
• Metal hardening models
• Elastomer characterization and behaviour
• How to define hyperelastic materials

Calibrate hyperelastic and viscoelastic materials in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform - Material Calibration App

Posted by Nikolaos Mavrodontis on Aug 31, 2020 10:32:29 AM

In this blog post, we will be demonstrating the material calibration capabilities of the Material Calibration App, available through the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Two different materials will be calibrated against input test data, in order to attain their material parameters, necessary for finite element analyses. The resulting material models will include hyperelastic and  linear/non-linear viscoelastic behavior.

This post will also highlight some of the exclusive material calibration capabilities of the Material Calibration App.

Material calibration using Abaqus (and Isight)

Posted by Christine Obbink-Huizer on Nov 22, 2016 12:37:18 PM

When performing a finite element analysis many modelling choices must be made. One of them is the choice of material properties. This can have a big influence on the outcome of the simulation. In many cases some material properties are known, for example in a data sheet. These normally do not directly correlate to the parameters required by Abaqus. When not all the required material properties are known, experimental data must be obtained. Based on this data, a material model and material parameters must be defined.
